New International Students

You are considered a new international student if you currently reside in your native country.

Application Deadlines
Fall Semester: June 1
Spring Semester: October 1

International students may be accepted for admission to Brazosport College (BC) and have a Form I-20 issued once they have satisfied the following requirements.

Step 1: Apply to Brazosport College

Submit an application through Apply Texas as far in advance of registration as possible. Please allow the Admissions Office 2 Business Days to receive and process your application.

Step 2: Submit Official Transcripts

Brazosport College requires official documentation to verify your highest level of education completed. Please submit one of the following:

  • Official secondary school record
  • Official college transcript

If you attended a college/university or high school outside the United States, the transcript will need to be sent to one of Brazosport College's approved Credential Evaluation services. College transcripts will need to be evaluated course by course to transfer your credits to Brazosport College. 

*You can find a list of accepted credential evaluation service providers on the National Association of Credential Evaluation Services or NACES website.

Step 3: Submit the Sponsor's Affidavit

International students are required to submit an completed Affidavit for Financial Resources, which indicates the sponsor will provide full financial support during the student's stay in the United States.

A bank statement of the sponsor must show $15,000 U.S. Dollars for the previous six months.

Step 4: Submit English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) Scores

All applicants must take the English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL), administered by the Education Testing Service, Princeton, New Jersey. Official Test Scores must be sent to Brazosport College directly from the Education Testing Center.

To be considered for admission, students must score a minimum score of one of the TOEFL tests listed below:

  • Paper-Based TOEFL: 500
  • Internet-Based TOEFL (iBT): 61
  • Computer-Based TOEFL (CBT): 163

International Students with Dependents

Applicants who will be bringing dependents (spouse or children) must qualify for F-2 Visas. Each individual's Form I-20 must be submitted at the time of application.

International Transfer Students

You are considered an international transfer student if you are currently in the United States planning to transfer to Brazosport College.

Application Deadline:
Fall Semester: June 1
Spring Semester: October 1
Summer Semester: March 15

International students may be accepted for admission to Brazosport College (BC) and have a Form I-20 issued once they have satisfied the following requirements. 

Please Note: Students who are out-of-status must file for reinstatement with USCIS before being considered for an I-20 from Brazosport College.

Step 1: Apply to Brazosport College

Submit an application through Apply Texas as far in advance of registration as possible. Please allow the Admissions Office 2 Business Days to receive and process your application.

Step 2: Submit Official Transcripts

Brazosport College requires official documentation to verify your highest level of education completed. Please submit the following: 

  • All previous College transcripts 

If you attended a college/university outside the United States, the transcript will need to be sent to one of Brazosport College's approved Credential Evaluation Services and a course by course evaluation completed.

A written statement on college letterhead from the International Student Advisor at the previously attended college or university must be submitted, indicating the student's current status.
