Commencement Day Dress

Caps and gowns (regalia) are available free of charge at Grad Fest. The guidelines below describe how you should be dressed on commencement day:

• Attire beneath your gown should be business casual. (No shorts or flip flops.)
• You are encouraged to wear comfortable shoes. You will spend a lot of time on your feet and you need to feel comfortable crossing the stage.
• Caps may be decorated, but cannot be 3-D, vulgar or offensive. You may be asked to buy another cap if it is deemed inappropriate.
• If you are a Veteran or active duty military, you may wear your dress uniform instead of the traditional cap and gown if you choose. Military stoles will be provided by the college at Grad Fest. You must indicate branch of service on the commencement participation form.
• Storage is NOT provided, so please secure purses and personal items in your car or with a guest.   
• Students must arrive in their cap and gown to the appropriate ceremony on commencement day.
  • We encourage you to try on your cap and gown during Grad Fest in order to ensure it fits properly.
  • Be sure to have your cords or stoles.
