New Student Orientation D2L Course

Welcome to Brazosport College! Home of the Brazosport Gators! The New Student Orientation Page is here to provide you with information regarding our orientations, programs, and support systems specifically for our new students.

Students who are attending college for the first time or students with a time lapse in enrollment are required to complete the two-part (A & B Sessions) New Student Orientation program.

 Students should, first, complete the Part A: Step 1, which is the New Student Orientation online module. This module does not have an option and must be completed by all students. You must complete the entire course of modules, take each quiz, pass the course with 70% or higher, and complete the surveys at the very end. Students should also print the certificate for verification of completion.

This page will focus solely on the D2L Make-Up Course opportunity, which is considered Part B: Step 2 of your journey of becoming a Brazosport College student.

To support our summer, spring, and fall 2022 students and our current spring 2023 students, ONLY, we have created this NSO Make-Up D2L course. This D2L course will now be considered Part B: Step 2 of your New Student Orientation. Students must also have completed Part A: Step 1 Comevo to receive complete credit for BC New Student Orientation. BC students will need to complete Part A: Step 1 and Part B: Step 2 to complete our mandatory two-part New Student Orientation.

This D2L course will be considered Part B: Step 2 of your orientation and must be completed if a student has failed to complete Part B (In-Person or Virtual Zoom Opportunities). This D2L Course is considered a make-up session for the Virtual Zoom and Face to Face sessions and is offered for a limited time.

Summer, spring, and fall 2022 students and our current spring 2023 students must complete the New Student Orientation virtual course via D2L (Considered Part B).  The course can be accessed on Virtual Campus. Once logged in, you should see a course titled “New Student Orientation.”  This course will remain active until Thursday, March 23, 2023, at 12:00 a.m./midnight.

You must complete the entire course, take each quiz, pass the course with 70% or higher, and complete the surveys at the very end. Failure to complete the course in its entirety and pass the course will cause credit NOT to be issued. Please do not rush through the course. Your time will be monitored within the D2L system.

It is in your best interest not to wait until the last days of the course to try and complete it and have your holds released. It is also highly recommended to complete the original Part B offerings, as this course will not always be available. Students must also complete Part A Comevo to receive complete credit for BC New Student Orientation.

When you have completed your Part A & B two-part orientation, please contact the Office of Student Life at 979-230-3519 for verification of completion. Our systems will also notify our office, and your holds will be released according to completion records and verification of data.
