TEAS Information

What is the TEAS exam?

The TEAS exam (Test of Essential Academic Skills) assesses applicant academic readiness for nursing education programs.

The TEAS has four assessment areas: Math, Science, English and Reading. Testing format is multiple-choice items with one correct answer.

A competitive TEAS score is at or above the National Percentile Rank. A score below this rank indicates the applicant is not ready for the nursing program. Areas of improvement will be evident and shown on printed score results. A Score Explanation and Interpretation is part of the score results. Nursing program faculty and staff are not permitted to comment on or review TEAS results with applicants. Only the first score per year is evaluated.
The TEAS exam is computerized and timed.
