What is the HESI exam?
The Health Education Systems Incorporated (HESI) exam assesses applicant academic readiness for nursing education programs.
Applicants for the ADN and LVN to ADN Curriculum Track program must complete the HESI ADN assessment during the application period. Applicants for the LVN program must complete the HESI PN assessment during the application period. The first attempt score (per year) is the score used to assess readiness.

LVN | HESI PN | June 1st- July 31st |
LVN to ADN | HESI RN | December 1st- January 31st |
ADN | HESI RN | December 1st- January 31st |

The HESI exam is computerized and timed. The length of the exam will be 4 hours and 45 minutes. You will be allowed breaks but keep in mind that the timer does not stop. Testing format is multiple-choice items with one correct answer.
Your HESI Score
A competitive HESI score is at or above the National Percentile Rank. A score below this rank indicates the applicant is not ready for the nursing program.
Areas of improvement will be evident and shown on printed score results. A Score Explanation and Interpretation is part of the score results. Nursing program faculty and staff are not permitted to comment on or review HESI results with applicants.
Unfortunately, there will be no retests allowed. Each student will be allowed one attempt per year from date of testing.
