COVID-19 Update for Employees: April 3
COVID-19 EMERGENCY AID FUND
In an effort to assist Brazosport College students during this unprecedented COVID-19 crisis, the Brazosport College Foundation has committed $20,000 in emergency funding to assist students in need.
Many BC students are now facing an increased need due to burdens created by the COVID-19 health crisis. Students are dealing with unexpected costs resulting from the transition to distance learning, such as Internet access, housing/rent, utilities and other essential basic needs.
Out of the funds, $10,000 has been designated to support students through the Emergency Aid Fund, with another $10,000 designated by Brazosport College President Dr. Millicent Valek from the President’s Circle of Excellence Fund to support students with food insecurities.

The Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security Act, or CARES Act, which was signed into law on March 27, creates a charitable deduction for donors. Individual taxpayers can reduce their 2020 taxable income by up to $300 (or $600 for married couples) by making tax-deductible gifts to charities.
