State Authorization

As stated by the National Council for State Authorization Reciprocity Agreements, “State Authorization is an agreement among member states, districts, and territories that establishes comparable national standards for interstate offering of postsecondary distance education courses and programs. It is intended to make it easier for students to take online courses offered by postsecondary institutions based in another state.”

Out of State Authorization

Admission of students residing outside the state of Texas to an online course, degree or certificate program offered at Brazosport College is dependent upon the college’s ability to secure authorization from the applicant’s state of residence. Brazosport College accepts applicants from a variety of pre-authorized states.

If you are considering an online program or Certificate that leads to a professional license in a state other than Texas:

• It is highly recommended you contact the appropriate licensing agency in your state to seek information and additional guidance before beginning the program.

• You must provide the address that best describes the anticipated physical location (where you will be when taking the course) of the place you will be living during the semester for which you are registering.

Student Complaints

If you have a complaint you must follow the Brazosport College Complaint Process as described under the Student Rights and Student Code section in the most recent version of the Student Guide and Calendar.

To submit a complaint complete the Student Complaint & Grievance form. Information provided will be used in efforts to resolve your complaint.
