Certified Pool Operator (CPO)

The Certified Pool Operator certification course is designed to provide the basic knowledge, techniques and skills required to safely operate a pool or spa.  The course will follow the NSPF Pool & Spa Operator Handbook (provided) along with local regulatory codes and is taught by an NSPF certified instructor.  Essential calculations, how to carry out and interpret water tests for safe operation of aquatic facilities, state and federal regulations and other important topics will be covered.  Pass the open book exam and earn your CPO certification.  This course is available upon request with a minimum of six participants.  To schedule a course, call the program coordinator at 979-230-3405.

Certified Pool Operator Fusion

If you completed the NSPF Pool Operator Primer course online, you may complete the certification requirements by attending day two of the Certified Pool Operator class (if available), participating in a review of state laws and successfully completing the certification exam.  For course availability, contact the program coordinator at 979-230-3405. Microsoft Office Specialist

Prepare for your Certified Microsoft Office Specialist Exam!  Our expert instructor will guide you through the necessary information to better prepare you to get your MOS certification.  This course includes Microsoft Word 2013 (document formatting, editing skills, various ways to customize a Word document), Microsoft Excel 2013 (developing spreadsheets, worksheet formatting, formulas and functions, creating reporting documents), and PowerPoint 2013 (design mutimedia slides, incorporate images...sounds...video...texts...and charts, interactive presentations).  After completing the course, we encourage students to sit for the respective Microsoft Office Specialist (MOS) examination to enhance employability. Essentials of Excel 2013

Microsoft Excel is a program used to present data in a spreadsheet, or a table of rows and columns.  Data can then be sorted, organized or manipulated mathematically using various arithmetic operations and formulas.  This introductory course will teach you basic data editing, performing calculations with formulas, managing workbooks, creating charts, and many other marketable skills using the automated tools found within Excel.

Introduction to Computer Systems

Photography I

Get to know your Digital Single Lens Reflex (DSLR) camera in this hands-on digital photography class.  Discover how aperture, shutter speed and ISO choices will affect your photos.  Learn to observe and manipulate light and use your creative eye to capture great photos.  During the final class meeting, we will hit the ground running with a campus-wide scavenger hunt, capturing our "prey" with our cameras!
