Community Emergency Response Team (CERT)

CERT is a training program that prepares you to help your family and neighbors in the even of a disaster.  During an incident, emergency service personnel may not be able to reach you right away.  CERT training will give you the skills to help emergency responders save lives and protect property.  As a member of the CERT team you can respond to disasters, participate in drills and exercises, and obtain additional training.  CERT teams are known and trusted resources for emergency responders and their communities.  No matter where you live or who you are, we all have a role in hometown preparedness.  What role will you play? This is an on-campus class with social distancing and other safety precautions.

Country and Western Dance

Dancing is great exercise and a great way to have fun while meeting new people.  If you want to learn the latest in Country and Western dance, take advantage of this three week session.  After learning a few steps, put your own spin on things by adding twirls and more.  Come join the fun.  No partner required.  Two Step, Waltz, and Line Dance will be taught.


Introduction to Nonprofit

Develop the skills and strategies you need to become an integral part of one of America's fastest growing service sectors! A 15 year veteran in the nonprofit field will show you how to transform your good intentions into a professional plan of action. You'll understand the unique characteristics of nonprofit organizations while mastering the core knowledge necessary to become an effective leader.  Learn skills and develop strategies that will take your organization to a new height of prosperity and productivity.  This course will touch on 3 topics: The Art of Fundraising, Stratic Planning, and Story Telling.


Laughter Yoga

Laughter is the best medicine!  Laughter Yoga is a unique exercise routine developed by Indian physician Dr. Madan Kataria.  It combines laughter exercises with yoga breathing (Pranayana), which brings in more oxygen to the body and brain, making one feel more energetic and healthy.  Anyone can laugh without relying on humor, jokes, or comedy.  Based on scientific fact, the body cannot tell the difference between fake and real laughter.


Photography I

Get to know your Digital Single Lens Reflex (DSLR) camera in this hands-on digital photography class. Discover how aperture, shutter speed and ISO choices will affect your photos. Learn to observe and manipulate light and use your creative eye to capture great photos. During the final class meeting, we will hit the ground running with a campus-wide scavenger hunt, capturing our "prey" with our cameras! The textbook is included. This is an on-campus class with social distancing and other safety precautions.
