Course Description: 

This course will allow you to study the processes entailed in digestion, absorption, and utilization of nutrients in the human body. The role and importance of major macromolecules, such as proteins, carbohydrates, lipids, and vitamins, as well as minerals and water, will be discussed. Students will evaluate, using software, their own nutritional status. Food selection and methods of food preparation as they relate to disease are also studied.
