Melissa began her journey in higher education as a dual credit student at Brazosport College. She received her Associate of Arts from Brazosport College and then transferred to Sam Houston State University where she earned a Bachelor of Science in Interdisciplinary Studies, Master of Education in Counseling, and Master of Arts in Higher Education Administration. Along with her degrees, she also earned a graduate certificate in Academic Advising from Sam Houston State University. She is a proud product of Brazosport College and is passionate about assisting students in their educational journey. She provides general academic advising services as well assists the Dean of Student Services with the adjudication of student conduct cases regarding academic integrity. Prior to this role, she was the BC dual credit counselor who worked with Sweeny ISD and Columbia-Brazoria ISD students. She was also a teacher in Angleton ISD for five years. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her family, volunteering in the community, and watching the Houston Astros.
