Connect to the Wi-Fi on-campus

There are three types of Wi-Fi networks that you can access depending on the device you are using, and whether you are a student, employee, or guest.

GatorWirelessSecure

For Brazosport College Equipment

This network is only for use with Brazosport College's equipment and cannot be used by employee or student personal devices. If you attempt to connect to this network, your device may be locked out of our system and you will need to contact the IT Helpdesk to have your device unblocked.

GatorBYOD

For Students and Employees

Please use this option to connect your personal devices such as laptops or phones. Your student or employee login (the same one you use to log into your email or a school computer) will be required to access this network.

Connecting to GatorBYOD on a laptop

Windows 10

  1. Select the Network icon on the taskbar. The icon that appears depends on your current connection state. If you don’t see one of the network icons, select the Up arrow to see if it appears there.
  2. Choose GatorBYOB, then select Connect.
  3. Login with your Brazosport College username and password, and then select Next.

Windows 11

  1. Select the Network, Sound, or Battery icons on the far right side of the taskbar to open quick settings.The Disconnected icon appears when you’re not connected.
  2. On the Wi-Fi quick setting, select Manage Wi-Fi connections.
  3. Choose GatorBYOB, then select Connect.
  4. Login with your Brazosport College username and password, and then select Next.

Mac OS

  1. From the Wi-Fi menu in the menu bar, choose GatorBYOB.
  2. Login with your Brazosport College username and password.

Connecting to GatorBYOD on an Android device

  1. Open your device's Settings app.
  2. Tap Connections > Wi-Fi > GatorBYOB (Android 12 and up: Tap Network & internet > Internet > GatorBYOB)
  3. Login with your Brazosport College email address, and password
  4. Tap CA Certificate Do Not Validate
  5. Tap MAC address type > select Use phone MAC
  6. Type brazosport.edu as the domain
  7. Tap Phase 2 Authentication, then select MSCHAPV2

After you connect, the network is "Saved." When your phone is on-campus, your phone automatically connects to this network.

Connecting to GatorBYOD on an iPhone

  1. From your Home screen, go to Settings > Wi-Fi.
  2. Turn on Wi-Fi. Your device will automatically search for available Wi-Fi networks.
  3. Tap GatorBYOD
  4. Login with your Brazosport College username and password
  5. Tap Trust to accept the certificate.

After you join the network, you'll see a blue checkmark next to the network and the connected Wi-Fi icon in the upper corner of your display.

GatorWireless

For Guests of Brazosport College

GatorWireless is intended for short term use by guests of Brazosport College, not students or employees. If you are a student or employee using GatorWireless because you are having difficulty connecting to GatorBYOD, please contact the IT Helpdesk for assistance.

Connecting to GatorWireless on a laptop

Access to GatorWireless, Brazosport College's guest Wi-Fi network, requires users to create an account with a valid email address and cell phone number capable of receiving text messages. Guest accounts are temporary and will expire after 25 hours. If you need to connect after the 25-hour period has elapsed, you will need to complete the sign-up process again.

Windows 10

  3. You will automatically be redirected to the Brazosport Guest Portal.
  4. Select “or register for access”.

  6. Once submitted, you will be directed to a confirmation page and receive a text message and an email containing your temporary login information.
  7. Select Sign On, then sign in and accept the Acceptable Use Policy.

Accessing GatorWireless within 25 hours of registering
