Alicia Hodge - Grant Compliance Coordinator

Job Responsibilities
As the Grant Compliance Coordinator for the Grant Administration Office, Ms. Hodge is responsible for programmatic oversight of all grant activities at Brazosport College and guiding Project Coordinators to understand and meet obligations. Ms. Hodge leads internal operational audits, furnishes pertinent grant and contract information to responsible parties, meets with stakeholders during the grant development process, and advises relevant personnel of legal, regulatory, and contract obligations. In addition to these responsibilities, Ms. Hodge furnishes necessary reports and letters to the grantor agencies.

Zachary Christman – Grant Writer

Educational Background

Job Responsibilities

As the Grant Writer for the Grant Administration Office, Mr. Christman is responsible for all grant proposal development and writing activities for Brazosport College. Mr. Christman researches grant opportunities, assesses grant application requirements, meets with stakeholders and project partners, coordinates with Brazosport College Vice Presidents and Deans to develop grant projects that support institutional priorities, writes and submits grant proposals, and serves as the college’s liaison with all potential grantor agencies.

Cynthia L. Laird - Administrative Office Specialist

Job Responsibilities:


(1) Organizes and maintains the functionality of the Grant Office as the resource and executive hub for grant development and oversight. Sorts files, gathers signatures, duplicates materials, and follows chain of custody of developing proposals, contracts, and reports.

(2) Inputs data on computer including inter and intra-office communications, grant drafts, grant research, and graphical models. Submits applications on behalf of staff and faculty.

(3) Assists administrators, faculty, and staff in writing and proofing proposals as well as grant compliance reports as needed.

(4) Manages, promotes, organizes, and implements the Gator Grant Program, including assisting faculty and staff with the submission process, scheduling and chairing committee.

(5) Assists in research and data analysis related to the development of grant proposals, including gathering prevalence data of awards to similar institutions as the college, and measuring outcomes.

(6) Point of contact in the administrative area for the Department. Schedules and books travel on behalf of the Department, and manages purchases, inventory, and budget.
