Jennifer Monical joined the Brazosport College Board of Regents in August, 2019.
 

Current Civic and Professional Participation 

Jennifer is the co-founder and vice president of the Brazosport Area Nurse Practitioners executive board, as well as a member of Texas Nurse Practitioners and the Brazosport CAP.  She is also a board member of Free Roots, a non-profit organization that works with rescued individuals affected by human trafficking; a volunteer provider at Live Oak Clinic in Lake Jackson, TX; a former board member of Brazosport Regional Hospital Foundation and a former board member of Southwest SIDS Research Institute.
 

Past and Present Work History 

Jennifer is a family nurse practitioner at Brazosport Women’s Health, practicing women’s primary health care with a sub-specialty in uro-gynecology. Prior to becoming a nurse practitioner, she worked as a registered nurse for 25 years in various settings at CHI St. Luke’s Health Brazosport (formerly Brazosport Regional Hospital) and St. Luke’s Episcopal Hospital in Houston, TX. 

Personal Biography

Jennifer was raised in Lake Jackson, TX after her parents moved to the area in 1972 when her father took a job with Dow. After graduating from Brazoswood High School in 1987, she earned a Bachelor of Nursing from Baylor University School of Nursing and a Master’s degree as a certified family nurse practitioner from the University of Houston. Jennifer is married to her husband, Mark, and has three children and a son-in-law, Hayden, Madison and Nick Roman, and Connor.  She and her husband helped start Brazos Pointe Fellowship 18 years ago and enjoy serving there as small group leaders and hosts, parenting class teachers, and marriage mentors.  In her spare time, Jennifer enjoys traveling, floral arranging, gardening, running, and visiting her children.
