Emergency Aid Funding

Emergency aid funding is available to students who experience an unexpected or unforeseen circumstance that may prevent them from achieving their immediate educational and career goals at Brazosport College.

Eligibility Requirements

  • Students who are currently enrolled in credit or non-credit courses at Brazosport College.
  • Credit students who have a 2.0 cumulative GPA (students may be evaluated on an individual basis and special consideration may be given if funds are available).
  • Non-Credit students in Allied Health and Adult Education and Literacy Programs who maintain an attendance rate of 90%.
  • Exclusions: Dual-Credit students, Jumpstart Program participants, CBIT students, and Children’s Center participants are not eligible for emergency aid funding. Exceptions for dual-credit students may be made on a case by case basis by the Coordinator of Student Wellness and Basic Needs or Director of Student Life.

Funding Procedures

Emergency aid funding is available for each student once per academic year.  Assistance is provided only for unexpected or unforeseen circumstances that may prevent a student from achieving their educational and career goals.  Emergency aid funding may not be used for school-related expenses.  Students must submit an application, provide details of the unexpected circumstance, provide receipts or documentation to support expenses, and meet with a designated BC Student Services employee in order to access the emergency aid funding.  Applicants will be contacted within 48 business hours of the application submission.
