We know many of our students are experiencing a great deal of uncertainty and stress as a result of the COVID-19 health crisis.
The CARES Act has provided Brazosport College with emergency funds to provide financial assistance to those students who have been negatively impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic.
COVID-19 Emergency Assistance is a one-time, non-traditional financial aid grant which will be provided to eligible BC students who have incurred expenses related to the disruption of campus operations due to COVID-19 (including but not limited to expenses such as food, housing, course materials, technology, health care, child care and transportation).
The following criteria need to be met to be eligible to apply for COVID-19 Emergency Assistance:
All funds are now depleted and have been awarded to eligible students.
To be eligible to apply for COVID-19 Emergency Assistance, a student must have a Free Application for Federal Student Aid or FAFSA on file with Brazosport College as well as meet the criteria mentioned above. If you do not currently have a FAFSA on file, visit www.fafsa.gov to complete and submit one.
Once your FAFSA form has been processed, you will be notified of your eligibility to apply for COVID-19 emergency Assistance. When designating what school on your FAFSA form, use code 007287 to indicate Brazosport College.
Applications will be reviewed and assistance will be granted on a first come, first serve basis. Students will be notified of a decision within 4-5 business days after they submit their application.
If you are a student who is ineligible to receive COVID-19 Emergency Assistance but would like to know more about other assistance options available to you, contact the office of Student Wellness and Basic Needs.
