Through the Excellence Fund, faculty and staff have received approximately $60,000 in funds for over 70 different projects since 2007!  During 2012-2013, the following awards were given:
 
 
      Christine Webster - Students in Christine Webster's Fall TEC 1311 class designed upgrades for their classroom in CC107. Students studied principles of Reggio Emilia classrooms prior to creating their own designs for different class assignments and projects for their final grade.
 
      Donna Thomson - Donna's project supported a computer software purchase which allows BC staff to easily design professional room layouts for internal and external events utilizing college space.
 
      BC Mentors - Two of our BC Mentors were able to attend a student leader conference in Houston, Texas.
 
 ★  Beth Cassidy - Beth organized and hosted a professional development workshop and dinner for faculty and adjuncts in the Construction & Mechanical Technologies Division.  The training was a very successful and informative event that will improve student certification procedures.
  
      Dr. Calin Agut - Dr. Agut introduced a new technology into his traditional and online math courses that creates interactive PDF files.  He purchased a digital smart pen that records and edits handwritten lecture notes while syncing them with voice audio for students to download from D2L.
   
      B.J. Owens & Glenn Campbell - Student Services brought in speaker Shannon Pickard for the annual BC Career Fair.  Pickard hosted several breakout sessions during the event attended by local high school students.
 
     Sue Strother - Sue's project purchased a professional HD video camera for the Learning Services department that will vastly improve video quality and turnaround on projection. 
   
      Molly Brauhn - Molly developed the art exhibition "Spectrum."  Her exhibit was hosted in the BC Art Gallery from February to April 2013.  She invited award-winning, internationally-published ceramics artists from around the nation to present their artwork.
 
    Ioana Agut - Ioana's project sought to improve management of her online and dual credit courses.  She purchased a tablet and portable document camera to easily and quickly capture and upload lecture notes for her students to download following class time.  
 
     The Clarion - A staff member from The Clarion traveled to a 4-day technology seminar and trade show for concert, theatre, and convention center professionals.
