Choosing to continue your education close to home has become even easier with the BC Advantage 22 program! As a recent high school graduate, your tuition and fees are covered when you enroll full-time in classes for the 2022-2023 academic year!

Brazosport College is proud to announce BC Advantage 22, an exciting opportunity for the high school graduating class of 2022. This initiative is available to 2022 graduates from Brazosport College service area public and private schools, homeschools, and those students who earned their GED during the 2021-2022 academic year. Eligible students are any 2021-2022 graduate from a Brazosport College service area high school regardless of where they reside.

Brazosport College is covering the cost of tuition and fees for one academic year for 2022 graduates who enroll full-time in a degree or certificate programs at BC for the Fall 2022, Spring 2023, and Summer 2023 semesters, mini-mesters terms may be covered, see What’s Covered below for more information.

Funds are applied to your account in this order: state-mandated/optional waivers, veteran affairs, financial aid, scholarships, and finally, the BC Advantage 22 program funds.

Eligible students should follow the steps to enrollment which start with completing the Apply Texas application and filling out a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).

How to Take Advantage of this Opportunity

Eligibility and Enrollment

You must have graduated from high school during the 2021-2022 academic year and enroll in a minimum of 12 semester credit hours per semester. You must also complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).

You’re Covered!

All eligible 2022 high school grads within BC’s service area, even those that may not qualify for financial aid, will have funds applied to their account.

Funds are applied to your account in this order: state-mandated/optional waivers, veteran affairs, financial aid, scholarships, and finally, the BC Advantage 22 program funds.

Register In-Person or Online

As a 2022 high school graduate, taking part in the BC Advantage 22 initiative is as easy as completing the steps to enroll below.

While most of our services are now available online, we're also offering in-person registration. Through One-Stop Registration, you can complete the steps needed to register and enroll including admissions, advising, financial aid, student services and tuition payment.

Outside of the scheduled One-Stop Registrations, offices are available during normal operating hours providing support services to students.

Step 1: Apply to Brazosport College

New Brazosport College Students

Submit an application through Apply Texas as far in advance of registration as possible. Please allow the admissions office 2 business days to receive and process your application.

Once processed, you'll receive your BC ID, Username, and PIN Number to log into MyBC. MyBC is a student portal that allows you to add courses, check your financial aid status, pay for courses, and more.

Returning Brazosport College Students

Students that have attended Brazosport College within the last year, have no outstanding holds, and are self-advised may register for classes through MyBC. 

Students who have not attended Brazosport College in over a year are required to submit re-admission items to the admissions office by the registration deadline. You can learn more about re-admission by visiting the returning students page.

Dual Credit Students

High school students who want to register for dual credit courses must first speak with their dual credit counselor. You can find your dual credit counselor and more information on the program by visiting the dual credit page.

International Students

International students currently in their native country and those in the United States planning to transfer to Brazosport College (BC) may be accepted for admission to BC and a Form I-20 issued when the student submits all requirements listed on the international students page.

Non-Credit Students

Brazosport College Community Education provides non-credit courses (courses that do not carry college credit) that focus on helping you develop your skills. Programs include accelerated training, professional development, language courses, certifications, and everything in between. Step 2: Apply for Financial Aid

 Apply for Financial Aid

To apply for aid, you'll need to complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) at www.fafsa.gov and use our school code 007287.

Once completed, be sure to fill out a Student Information Form (found on the financial aid website) and accept the Satisfactory Academic Progress Policy on your myBC account.

Please Note: Dual credit students may have additional steps required to apply for financial aid. Make sure to check out the dual credit page on the financial aid website to review all requirements.

Interested in becoming a student worker?

 Apply for Scholarships

Did you know not all scholarships are based on income? Even if you don’t meet the criteria for federal aid, Brazosport College may have a scholarship for you.

To apply for scholarships, be sure to fill out the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) at www.fafsa.gov, then complete the Scholarship Application. The application is not specific to one scholarship but rather assists the financial aid office in finding options that best fit you.

Once completed, be sure to fill out a Student Information Form (found on the financial aid website) and accept the Satisfactory Academic Progress Policy on your myBC account.

Step 3: Required Documents and Testing (if needed)

New Brazosport College students are required to provide:

Official documents/transcripts for the highest level of education completed.

 Proof of Bacterial Meningitis Vaccination (Required for anyone under the age of 22 attending classes on Brazosport College Campus.) Information regarding limited exceptions and exemptions may be found at www.brazosport.edu/vaccine.

Submit Placement Test Scores*

*Certificate seeking students are NOT required to take the Placement Testing unless they intend on taking academic classes outside of their certification program. Dual Credit Students can speak with their Dual Credit Counselor regarding exemptions.

Step 4: Get Enrolled

Option One: You can meet with a counselor virtually by visiting the E-Counseling website and requesting to speak with a counselor.

This format features the most structured, and scheduled interaction with instructors.
Online
These courses are taught entirely online and require no traditional face-to-face meetings. You will be able to access your course at online.brazosport.edu when the semester begins.
Students have the flexibility to work on the class material at anytime and anywhere while still meeting scheduled due dates for assignments and tests. Students can engage with the instructor and ask questions via email, Zoom, and online office hours. Students have the ability to work from the safety and convenience of their home.
Scheduled Live Online
These courses meet through a real-time, two-way video connection between students and instructors. Students must log in at the designated class times. You will be able to access your course at online.brazosport.edu when the semester begins.
Students can participate live in class lectures and activities. Students have the opportunity to ask questions and receive immediate feedback during scheduled class time. Students have the ability to work from the safety and convenience of their own home.
Blended
These courses meet both on campus and online. Course content is posted online by the instructor for the student to complete. You will be able to access the online portion of your course at online.brazosport.edu when the semester begins.
Offers students live interaction with instructors and peers during face-to-face lectures and activities. Students can access the instructor in class (during scheduled times) as well as through email and Zoom meetings.

About Blended and Face-to-Face Courses

We will offer "Face-to-Face" and "Blended" courses.

For Blended Courses: Students students will engage in both on campus and online instruction. This will allow all students in the class to experience both face-to-face and remote instruction.

Step 5: Complete New Student Orientation

New Student Orientation is a mandatory two-part experience for new students. It focuses on providing you with the tools you need to get connected and engaged at Brazosport College, learn about services that are here to help you succeed, and understand campus processes such as registration and financial aid.

Note that these steps must be completed in sequential order to receive credit for completion.

Step 1: Complete the Online Module (Part A) at Brazosport.edu/OnlineOrientation

You must provide your name, BC student ID number, and username to sign in. You must correctly enter your ID number and username to receive credit for completing the Online Module (Part A).

Upon completing the Online Module (Part A), you will be directed to register for a Face-to-Face/In-Person or Virtual Zoom session (Part B). It is recommended that you save a copy of your Certificate of Completion.

Step 2: Attend a Face-to-Face/In-Person or Virtual Zoom Session (Part B)

You must register for a Face-to-Face/In-Person or Virtual Zoom Session (Part B) session using the online registration form found at the end of Online Module (Part A).

What to expect:

- Sessions will last a minimum of 1 hour and 30 minutes.
- Parents are welcome to attend with their students.
- An information fair will be available for those attending a face-to-face/in-person session.

Face-to-Face/In-Person Sessions

Face-to-face/in-person sessions will be offered on select Tuesdays at 4 p.m. and select Thursdays at 6 p.m. in Gator Hall, located within the Bonnen Central Building of the Brazosport College campus. You are encouraged to arrive 45 minutes early for opportunities to play games, win prizes, and interact with students and faculty.

Virtual Zoom Sessions

Zoom sessions will be offered on select Saturdays at 10 a.m. Once registration for a Zoom session is complete, you will receive a confirmation email with your selected dates. You will receive your link to attend the session 24 hours before your session. Please do not share this link with anyone.

Holds will be released in 2-3 business days upon completion of orientation.

Step 6: Pay Tuition and Fees

Pay Tuition and Fees via the Cashier's Office

Tuition and fees can be paid online through your MyBC account or in person at the cashier’s office. Payment plans are available. Further information on how to set up a payment plan can be found on the Cashier's Office website.

Pay Tuition and Fees with Financial Aid

You may pay with your financial aid award. If awarded, your authorized financial aid will be applied directly to your account balance. You are responsible for any remaining balance. For more information, visit www.brazosport.edu/financialaid

Be sure to pay tuition by the payment deadline or you will be dropped from classes.

Step 7: Get Prepared

 Textbooks

 BC ID Cards and IT Student Account Information

You can obtain your BC Student Picture ID in our campus library. You can set up your Student Account information with IT Helpdesk located in K Wing. You'll need this information to log in to campus computers, D2L (Virtual Campus), MyBC and more.

You will need proof of payment or payment plan to obtain your student ID and account information.

Who is Eligible

  • Any 2021-2022 graduate from a Brazosport College service area high school regardless of where they currently reside or any 2021-2022 high school graduate who currently resides in the BC service area is eligible for the BC Advantage 22 program. A student that received their HSE (formerly GED) in 2021-2022 and is currently residing in the BC service area is also eligible. This includes graduates from fall 2021 through summer 2022. The 2021-2022 academic year is defined as August 24, 2021 – August 12, 2022.
  • You must have graduated from a Brazosport College service area high school during the 2021-2022 academic year or have completed your GED in 2022. This includes graduates from fall 2021 through summer 2022.
  • BC Advantage 22 is for all 2022 high school grads within BC’s service area, even those that may not qualify for financial aid.
  • You must remain in good academic standing in accordance with the Satisfactory Academic Policy during the 2022-2023 academic year.
  • You must be enrolled in a minimum of 12 combined credit hours in either Spring 2023 or May Mini-mester.
  • For summer, you must be enrolled for a minimum of 6 credit hours for the combined Summer terms.
  • You must have a high school GPA of 2.0 or have completed the Texas State Initiative Assessment 2.0 (TSIA2) exam.
  • You must complete a Free Application for Federal Student AID (FAFSA).
