The Board of Regents has announced that the search is underway for the next President of Brazosport College.

Applications and nominations for the position of President of Brazosport College are currently being accepted until the position is filled. 

The target date for applications is August 16, 2021.

Forums

On May 6 and 11, 2021, Dr. Bill Holda, ACCT Search Consultant, hosted three (3) Virtual Public Forums. The purpose of these sessions was to listen to the feedback and insight of College faculty, staff, students, and community members.

The entire Brazosport community was invited and encouraged to participate in a wide-ranging discussion about the qualities, characteristics, and qualifications seek in our next president, and the opportunities and challenges facing the College in the years to come.

The input of over 100 forum participants, along with over 60 responses provided via an anonymous online survey, contributed toward the development of the Presidential Profile.

How to Apply

This is a confidential search process. To ensure full consideration, application materials should be received no later than August 16, 2021. The position will remain open until filled.

Candidates will need to have the following information or materials available to complete the application:

  1. A letter of application (not to exceed 5 pages) that succinctly addresses the opportunities and challenges identified in the Position Profile and demonstrates how the candidate’s experience and professional qualifications prepare them to serve as the President of Brazosport College.
  2. A current resume including an email address and cellular telephone number.
  3. A list of eight references: example, two to three supervisors, two to three direct reports, and two to three faculty and/or staff members from current and former institutions.

Presidential Search Timeline*

Early May 2021ACCT Search Consultant facilitates a series of virtual Open Forums to solicit feedback to inform the development of the draft Presidential Profile.
Late May 2021Presidential Search Committee training and orientation; committee receives, reviews, and edits the draft Presidential Profile. Special or Regular Board meeting to discuss, edit, and finalize the Presidential Profile.
Early June 2021Position is open and advertised. Presidential Profile is posted on brazosport.edu and acctsearches.org. Targeted local, state-wide, and national one-to-one recruitment commences; national advertising placed.

August 16, 2021

Target Date for Receipt of Applications. Position open until filled.

Early September 2021Search Committee Meeting: Discussion and selection of confidential semifinalist candidates.
Late September 2021Search Committee Meeting: Confidential interviews with semifinalists. The Committee deliberates and selects finalists to forward to the Board for further consideration.
Early October 2021Finalists interview with the full Board, tour campuses, participate in open public forums, meet with direct reports.
Mid-November 2021Board of Regents announces the next President of Brazosport College.
January 4, 2022Start date for next President of Brazosport College.
