Brazosport College recently hosted a graduation celebration for 10 students completing a basic certificate through the Linde/Praxair Workforce development welding training program.

The graduating students were selected from a group of applicants to complete the basic certificate with all tuition paid. The Linde/Praxair corporation offered the program as a focus on the development of a diverse pipeline of talented skilled trade professionals to ensure that their critical business needs are met, and to remain globally competitive.

Linde/Praxair training programs are offered in locations around the world, including the United States, China, Germany, South America and South Africa. Three welding classes have graduated in Louisiana. The recent class at Brazosport College was the first in Texas to graduate from the program.

“We all share the need for a skilled workforce and it is essential to establish the region’s continued industrial growth,” said Grant Peltier, Metal Fabrication Specialist for Praxair Distribution, Inc. “Our partnership with Brazosport College helps to ensure that together we will provide a program that will serve our students and the state of Texas well.”

Students graduating from the training program included Stephanie Aguilera, Echo Bailey, Frank Blanton, Adan Carrizales, Janiel Castro, Logan Davis, Gabriel Rivera, Kenric Russell, Marcos Torres and Matthew Weeks.
