BC Jazz Band to perform fall concert on Oct. 18

LAKE JACKSON – The Brazosport College Jazz Band takes the stage for their first concert of the fall semester at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, October 18 at The Clarion at Brazosport College.

The ensemble, which will be under the direction of Richard Birk, will perform a variety of songs including, Charlie Parker's "Now's the Time," Mindi Abair's "Any Way You Wanna," Herb Alpert's "The Lonely Bull," Tower of Power’s “Diggin’ on James Brown” and Michael Buble's "Comin' Home Baby," as well as the standards from the Great American Songbook, “Tangerine” and “The Nearness of You.”

Featured in the ensemble are Zachary Zarate on vocals, Chris Cermak and Nathaniel Woolsey on trumpets, Justin Schiller on alto sax, Jonathan Peachey on trombone, Johathon Davies on bass trombone, Rolando Rivera on guitar, Nathan Dowlen on piano, Dustin Campbell on bass and Chris Varela on drums.

Admission to the concert is free and no tickets are required.
