Double up at Brazosport College with linked history, English classes
Separately, peanut butter and chocolate are both delicious. When mixed, however, they are even better. The same can be said for joining a learning community through a linked class at Brazosport College.
Beginning in the upcoming spring semester, Professor Hollis Knode’s History 1302 class and Professor Emily Masterson’s English 1302 course will be linked together. Students enrolled in one class will be enrolled in the other class, as well. The registration (REG) numbers are 3208 for History 1302 and 3155 for English 1302.
By co-enrolling in both classes, you’ll gain a better understanding of course materials on both sides. Also, since the same students are enrolled in both classes, you’ll make some new friends, too. You’ll also earn three hours of core credit for each class, for a total of six credit hours.
These courses are separate classes, but the content is joined. For example, if you read a short story for English, you may talk about the historical context of that story in your history class. You also might complete a project that is viewed by both instructors.
At the same time, the two courses are completely separate, with separate syllabi and separate grades. If a class needs to de dropped, normal withdrawal procedures will apply.
The classes will be held on Tuesdays and Thursdays, with History 1302 scheduled from 11 a.m. to 12:15 p.m., followed by English 1302 from 12:30 to 1:45 p.m.
Give these linked classes a try. Just like peanut butter and chocolate, two classes are much better and more enjoyable when taken together.
