LAKE JACKSON — Brazosport College recently hosted its annual Counselor/Administrator Dinner at the Dow Academic Center, with administrators from Angleton, Brazosport, Columbia-Brazoria and Sweeny independent school districts in attendance. The dinner celebrated the partnership between the local school districts and Brazosport College.

Two dual-credit Brazosport College students — Areli Elicerio from Brazosport High School and Carson Ohlen from Columbia High School — also spoke on the benefits of participating in the college’s dual-credit program while still in high school.

Among the evening’s presentations, local superintendents provided updates in their districts, while Brazosport College President Dr. Millicent Valek talked about the Catalyst program, a new partnership between the College and the four area independent school districts. The Catalyst program allows students to take a structured path toward the completion of an associate degree in Process Operations or Instrumentation Technology within one year of high school graduation or an applied baccalaureate degree in Industrial Management within three years of high school graduation.
