Brazosport College recently held a drive-thru Employee Recognition dinner to honor faculty and staff members for their years of service to the College.

Full-time and part-time BC employees are honored for every five years of service. Since a recognition dinner wasn’t held in 2020 due to COVID-19, those recipients were also included in this year’s event.

The College recognized five employees with at least 35 years of service, with Wayne Pryor leading the way with 45 years at the College. He was followed by Horace Buchanan, Gary Hicks, Jerry James and Phil Robertson with 40 years of service, and Richard Birk with 35.

A total of 11 employees were honored for 25 years or more, including full-time staff members Alicia DeLeon, Kate Funkhouser and Enos Soto with 30 years, followed by Brian Commons, Trish Dusek, Micah Meche, Suzanne Raymond and Jeraldyne Stripling with 25. Part-time employees Glenn Campbell and Flora Courtney were also recognized for 25 years.

Brazosport College President Dr. Millicent Valek was also recognized for leading the College for the past 25 years, while Board of Regents Vice Chair Robert Perryman was honored for 10 years of service. Also recognized for service on the College Board were Jason Cordoba and Danny Yates both having served for five years.

The College also honored 17 employees with 20 years of service, 17 with 15 years, 16 with 10 years, 66 with five years.
