Brazosport College awarded Business of the Year honor from The Alliance

Brazosport College was recently awarded The Alliance (Economic Development Alliance for Brazoria County) 2019 Business of the Year at the organization’s Quarterly Membership Meeting. Brazosport College was recently awarded The Alliance (Economic Development Alliance for Brazoria County) 2019 Business of the Year accolade at the organization’s Quarterly Membership Meeting.

The Alliance’s Chairman of the Board Jim Russ presented the award to Brazosport College President Dr. Millicent Valek. 

Among the reasons for winning the accolade, it was stated “Brazosport College plays a critical role in the community by providing educational opportunities for all. The College places student success at the forefront of everything it does. It is a model for public/private partnerships. Brazosport College supports our economic growth via tax abatements and workforce training for industry.”

The Alliance accepted nominations for Business of the Quarter during the past year, with Brazosport College receiving the Business of the Quarter Award at the Alliance’s July 25 meeting. The membership voted on which Business of the Quarter Recipient would receive the honor of Business of the Year for 2019.
