BC Community Education classes to keep kids busy this summer

Tue Jun 4, 2013

Brazosport College’s Community Education Center is giving kids a reason to get out of the house this summer.

Through the college’s CE Center Youth and IZone classes, kids and teens around the community will have a big variety of different courses to choose from that are sure to spark an interest. The youth classes are for kids 8 to 11 years of age, while iZone courses are for 12 and up.

The iZone classes, which range from a few days in length to a few weeks, cover everything from babysitting to sports and hobbies to cooking, and much more.

A few of the popular iZone classes include fencing, photo fun, cakes creation, money management and etiquette lessons for both boys or girls. There’s even an SAT Test Prep course to help teens prepare for college. In all, there are more than 18 iZone courses teens can choose from.

For children not quite reaching the teen years, BC’s Community Education has 13 Youth classes perfect for kids 8 to 11. Among the choices are archery, science, guitars, sewing, photography, sketching and much more.

Classes are spread out throughout the summer, with some beginning this month. Classes are at the Brazosport College Main Campus at 500 College Dr. in Lake Jackson.

For a full list of classes, course times, days, prices or more information, call the CE Center at (979) 230-3600 or visit www.brazosport.edu/ce.
