The Brazosport College Department of Music will present a President’s Day concert featuring the College and Community Band at 7:30 p.m. on Monday, Feb. 15. The band will be under the direction of BC Director of Music Richard Birk.

The performance is free and will be held in The Clarion at Brazosport College. Advanced reservations are encouraged and can be reserved by calling the Clarion Box Office at (979) 230-3156.

“Our program will include beloved American folk songs, a patriotic march, music from Broadway, and a medley of New Orleans jazz favorites,” Birk said. “I hope the community will come join us as we celebrate American Music on this upcoming President’s Day.”

Brazosport College safety protocols, including health screenings, face masks/coverings and social distancing, will be required while on campus. The required health screening form can be accessed at brazosport.edu/screening.

Selections scheduled to be performed on Feb. 15 include:

“Shenandoah” — a gorgeous setting of the traditional American folk song.

“A New Orleans Promenade” — a medley of NOLA favorites, including “What a Friend We Have in Jesus,” “St. Louis Blues,” and “When the Saints Go Marching In.”
