More than 350 children recently participated in Brazosport College’s popular Kids College summer program.

In all, 358 kids participated in the two-week program, including 169 6-to-8-year-olds in the first week, followed by 189 9-to-12-year-olds in the second week. Classes ran Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to noon both weeks.

The program consisted of up-to-four 50-minute classes a day, with students choosing between 16 different courses, ranging from Taekwondo to cooking to learning about reptiles and everything in between.

The event, which was organized through BC’s Community Education department, ran smoothly thanks to the efforts of 21 volunteers, 18 instructors, five CE staff members and one student worker.
