Brazosport College Theatre is set to present its first show of the 2021 fall semester, “This is Our Youth.”

The production is scheduled for Thursday, October 7 through Saturday, October 9 and will be performed at The Seidule Theatre at Brazosport College. The show’s run dates were delayed one week due to the College’s closure after Hurricane Nicholas.

Written by Kenneth Lonegran, “This is Our Youth” is set in 1982 on Manhattan’s Upper West Side. The story follows 48 hours in the lives of three very lost young souls. These wealthy and articulate teenagers, who were small children in the ’60s, have emerged as young adults in a country that has just resoundingly rejected everything they were brought up to believe in.

A comedy, “This is Our Youth,” is a living snapshot of the moment between adolescence and adulthood when many young people first go out into the world on their own.

Cast members include Austin Nachtegaele, Veronica Stephens and Od Xavier.

The show is directed by BC Theatre Professor Michael McIntosh. Costume design is by Shannon Averett, while Vorin Dornan is the guest lighting designer. McIntosh is also working scenic and sound design.

Although the play is being offered for no cost, tickets are required and can be purchased through a link at brazosport.edu/theatre. “This is Our Youth” is intended for mature audiences.
