The Brazosport College Art Department is proud to present the photography of Christine Lenzen for a limited time at the BC Art Gallery.

Lenzen’s exhibit, “Forever a Wilderness,” is currently on display at the College’s art gallery through Nov. 20. The art gallery is located in Room B.126 in BC Central. Admission to the exhibit is free.

“Forever a Wilderness” was born from Lenzen’s desire to create a visual mythos of the Great Lakes’ north woods culture, particularly for the isolated and remote Upper Peninsula of Michigan. Although the work is perhaps an ode to Lenzen’s love for the Upper Peninsula, it is also a portrait of what she believes much of rural America embodies: pride in our wilderness, commitment in our communities and the ability to forge through tough times.

Lenzen has earned a Masters of Fine Arts in Photography from the University of Notre Dame and a Bachelors of Fine Arts in Photography from the University of Minnesota. Her award-winning photography has appeared throughout the United States, as well as internationally in countries, such as Spain, Canada and Hungary. She is currently an Associate Professor of Photography at Northern Michigan University in Marquette, MI.

For access to the Brazosport College campus to visit the exhibit, an online health screening located at Brazosport.edu/screening must be completed. Face coverings are also required while on campus.
