ACHE-SETC selects BC Health Services Management students for mentorship

Eleven students from Brazosport College’s Bachelor of Applied Technology in Health Services Management program were recently selected for the American College of Healthcare Executives-SouthEastTexasChapter (ACHE-SETC) Mentorship Program.

The students and their mentorships were announced in a spotlight story on the ACHE-SETC chapter website.

The students selected, along with their mentors, are:

  • Caroline Cammack — Mentor: Justin Shiver, Associate Administrator, HCA Conroe
  • Amy Gonzalez (Madrigal) — Mentor: Tremaine Gibson, Associate Administrator, HCA Northwest
  • Madison Huffman — Mentor: Jennifer Machado, Director of Strategy & Product Development, Aetna
  • Douglas Washington — Mentor: Elias Armendariz, COO, HCA Clear Lake
  • Zaundria Shanklin — Mentor: Renee Ford, VP of Operations, HCA Tomball
  • Perla Randle — Mentor: Mike Lu, COO, Cellarian Inc. & Sprintz Center for Pain
  • Sara Henderson — Mentor: Guy Cayo, Assistant CEO/Administrator III, Kindred Medical Center
  • Chelsie Walters — Mentor: Jack Buckley, Professor & Former Healthcare Executive, Texas A&M
  • LaShunda Fowlks — Mentor: Don Wagner, President & Former Healthcare Executive, Wagner Healthcare Consulting
  • Cheyenne De La Cruz — Mentor: Daniel Collins, Market Director, MEDNAX/Pediatrix
  • Krista Johnson — Mentor: Sara Sommers Wilks, Market Director, MEDNAX/Pediatrix

The ACHE-SETC praised BC’s program for “leading the way in creating increased opportunities for baccalaureate students in management and administration.

Finally, the ACHE-SETC spotlight noted that Brazosport College’s Bachelor of Applied Technology in Health Services Management program, which is ranked No. 2 in the state of Texas and No. 7 nationwide, uses an “innovative, instructional approach specifically designed to prepare students to manage the business and operational side of healthcare delivery and related industries.”
