Austin musician Gina Chavez to bring high-energy show to the Clarion

The Clarion at Brazosport College is pleased to bring one of Austin’s top musicians — Gina Chavez — to The Clarion at Brazosport College for a concert on Friday, May 19. Chavez will take the Clarion stage at 7:30 p.m.

A 12-time Austin Music Award-winner, including accolades as the best 2019 Female Vocalist and the 2015 Austin Musician of the year, Chavez explores the true meaning of “Americana" through her shows.

With her five-piece band, Chavez take audiences on a high-energy journey through Latin America and beyond. Her passionate collection of deeply personal bilingual songs traversing cumbia, rumba and soul, allows her to discover her Latin roots through music.

Chavez’s album, “Up.Rooted” topped the Amazon and Latin iTunes charts following a feature on NPR's “All Things Considered.” Her “Tiny Desk” concert also has more than 900,000 views.

Tickets for the concert are $25 for adults, $20 for seniors and $10 for students and children.   

Chavez’s show is the final concert of the Clarion’s 2022-23 performance season. The 2023-24 season will be announced soon.
