Open auditions for Percy Jackson musical set for Aug. 31-Sept. 1
Brazosport College Theatre is seeking actors for its upcoming musical, “The Lightning Thief: The Percy Jackson Musical,” a co-production with Brazoswood High School.
Auditions will be held at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday, August 30 and Thursday, August 31 at Brazoswood High School; and Friday, September 1 at the Seidule Theatre at Brazosport College.
Adapted from Rick Riordan’s book, “The Lightning Thief,” and featuring a thrilling rock score, this musical stars Percy Jackson, a son of the god Poseidon, and the newly discovered powers he can’t control. With monsters on his trail, Percy is on a quest to find Zeus’s lightning bolt to prevent a war between the Greek gods.
Auditions are open to everyone, including performers of all ethnicities, gender identities and ages, as well as performers with disabilities.
For the audition, please prepare a brief pop/rock song in the style of the show. Bring sheet music in the correct key. An accompanist will be provided and a cappella singing or performing with tracks will not be permitted. Make sure to act when you sing.
