BC, TimelyCare partner to offer students virtual health, well-being care

Brazosport College is partnering with TimelyCare to deliver a new virtual health and well-being platform for eligible students. This service provides 24/7 access to virtual care at no cost to the student.

Beginning Friday, Sept. 1, credit students at Brazosport College — whether online or on campus — are eligible to use this service, regardless of insurance status. Currently enrolled students are eligible for TimelyCare services. Community Education and Center for Business and Industry Training students are excluded.

BC students will be able to select from a variety of virtual care services from licensed counselors and providers from anywhere in the United States through the TimelyCare app on their phone or other device.

TimelyCare’s providers can offer support for a wide range of common concerns and, after talking to the patient, will decide on the best course of treatment. Prescriptions are also available if the provider deems it clinically appropriate.

TimelyCare’s services include:

• MedicalNow: On-demand support for common health issues, including cold, flu and allergies.
  
  
• TalkNow: 24/7, on-demand emotional support to talk about anything, including anxiety, relationships, depression and school-related stressors.
  
  
• Scheduled Medical: Choose the day, time and medical provider that best works for you.
  
  
• Scheduled Counseling: Choose the day, time and mental health provider that works best for you (Six visits per year).
  
  
• Health Coaching: Develop healthy lifestyle behaviors for nutrition, sleep habits, time management and mindfulness.
  
  
• Psychiatry: Appointments are available through referrals.
  
  
• Self-care Content: Guided self-care content is available through the TimelyCare app.
  
  
• Basic Needs Support: Access to free or reduced-cost community resources, including food and housing assistance, transit support, childcare and finances.
