BC’s Weeks of Welcome to provide fun, informative start to 2023 Fall semester

Brazosport College’s Office of Student Life is providing students with plenty of opportunities for student involvement as they enter the new semester.

Through its 2023 Fall semester Weeks of Welcome activities, which run from Aug. 28 through Sept. 7, BC’s Office of Student Life will greet students back to campus with fun activities and games, but also with plenty of information about the College’s organizations and other opportunities.

The two-week event kicks off on Monday, Aug. 28 with welcome maps and some additional swag for students in the College’s Bonnen Central and Sadler lobbies, and will close on Thursday, Sept 7 with the ever-popular SGA Build-a-Gator event in the MEGlobal Student Pavilion. In between, other Weeks of Welcome events will include a silent disco party, a school supply giveaway, a student involvement fair and a bingo contest.

An additional highlight is the kickoff of the 2023-24 Strive 2 Drive promotion on Aug. 31, which will eventually result in a student winning a new Honda Civic at the conclusion of the Spring 2024 semester.  

Becoming involved at Brazosport College sets oneself up for a successful semester. Participating with Student Life also helps develop skills outside the classroom by providing opportunities for leadership and personal development, inter-cultural awareness, and civic engagement, among other positive traits.

MONDAY, AUG. 28

Welcome Back Maps & Swags: 8-10 a.m. and 3:30-5 p.m. in the Bonnen Central Lobby and the Sadler Lobby.

TUESDAY, AUG. 29

School Supply Giveaway: 8-10 a.m. and 3:30-5 p.m. in the Bonnen Central Lobby.

WEDNESDAY, AUG. 30

Silent Disco Party: 11 a.m.-2 p.m. in Gator Hall. Free food will be provided.

THURSDAY, AUG. 31

Strive 2 Drive Kickoff: 11:30 a.m. outside Bonnen Central. Free food will be provided.  

TUESDAY, SEPT. 5

Welcome Back Bingo: 11 a.m.-1 p.m. in the MEGlobal Student Pavilion. Free food will be provided.  

WEDNESDAY, SEPT. 6

Involvement & Resource Fair: 11 a.m.-1 p.m. in the MEGlobal Student Pavilion. Free food will be provided.  

THURSDAY, SEPT. 7

SGA Build-a-Gator: 11 a.m.-1 p.m. in the MEGlobal Student. Free food will be provided.
