BC’s nursing program to hold information sessions Spring 2017

Mon Jan 30, 2017

Brazosport College’s nursing program will hold two information sessions to inform interested candidates about the school’s nursing programs.

The sessions will cover a range of topics, such as what BC offers, admittance procedures and other program information. This will also be a prime opportunity to ask questions and have them answered by a member of the

BC nursing program.

Both sessions are scheduled for January 31, the first at 2 p.m., followed by a second session at 6:30 p.m. The information sessions will be in room HS-103 of the Byron and Sandra Sadler Health Professions/Science Complex on the Brazosport College campus.

Brazosport College currently offers two nursing options, the Associate Degree of Nursing (ADN) program and the Licensed Vocational Nursing (LVN) program.

Currently, the College’s Associate Degree of Nursing (ADN) program is accepting applications for the Fall 2017 semester. Applications will be accepted through April 15 and can be found at www.brazosport.edu/healthprofessions.

A registered nurse is a graduate from an approved professional ADN program and has passed the National Council Licensure Exam for registered nurses (NCLEX-RN). An RN assesses patient health problems and needs, develops and implements nursing care plans, and documents care. An RN provides nursing care to ill, injured, convalescent or disabled patients.
