Applying for Scholarships

Scholarships are gifts meaning they don't need to be repaid and many are not based on income. They can be offered by individuals, companies, nonprofits, communities, religious groups, professional and social organizations, and more.

Students Awarded Scholarships

If you are awarded a scholarship, you can use the Scholarship Response Form to submit a thank you acknowledgement to your donor.

The General Scholarship Application

Students can access the General Scholarship Application on Award Spring. Award Spring is how the financial aid office manages a variety of scholarships funded by the college and donors who support BC.

Remember that you must resubmit the General Scholarship Application every year, regardless of whether you're a new or continuing student. We recommend you submit your scholarship application with your FAFSA.

Accessing Award Spring & Completing the Scholarship Application

You can access Award Spring by visiting Once there, follow the instructions below to get started.

Keep in mind that most scholarships require that you complete your Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). It's important to have that application completed before you submit your scholarship application.

Log into Award Spring

If it's your first time logging into award spring, you'll need to create a login. On the homepage, you'll see am area that says, "First Time Here?" with a button that reads, "Set Your Password". Click the button to create an account.

If you've already created an account and submitted your application in the past, you'll just need to log in. If you're having trouble logging in, you can reset your password using the "Forgot Password" option.

Begin the General Scholarship Application

Choose the "Application" tab, located on the left had navigation pane.

Answer all the questions for the General Scholarship Application. Submit your application by clicking the "Submit Application" button at the bottom of the page. This button will only be available once you have filled all of the application's required fields.

Once you have submitted your application, you may continue with the steps listed on the "Apply for Financial Aid" page

Textook Scholarships

Textbook Scholarships are available for students needing funds to help purchase classroom books in the Brazosport College bookstore. To apply, complete and submit the Textbook Scholarship Application to our office during bookstore charging periods.

Local Scholarships

The local scholarships listed below have additional requirements or a separate application. Be sure to review individual scholarship opportunity criteria and deadlines.
