Steps to Enrollment

Step 1: Get Admitted

New Brazosport College Students:

Submit an application through Apply Texas as far in advance of registration as possible. Please allow the admissions office 2 business days to receive and process your application. Once processed, you'll receive your BC ID, Username, and PIN Number to log into MyBC. MyBC is a student portal that allows you to add courses, check your financial aid status, pay for courses, and more.

Returning Brazosport College Students:

Students that have attended Brazosport College within the last year, have no outstanding holds, and are self-advised may register for classes through MyBC.

Students who have not attended Brazosport College in over a year are required to submit re-admission items to the admissions office by the registration deadline. You can learn more about re-admission by visiting the returning students page.

Step 2: Get Financed

 Apply for Financial Aid

Complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) at www.fafsa.gov. (School Code: 007287)

Interested in becoming a student worker?
Students interested in becoming a student worker must complete a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). Learn more about these unique employment opportunities at the Career and Guidance Center.

 Apply for Scholarships

Did you know not all scholarships are based on income? Even if you don’t meet the criteria for federal aid, Brazosport College may have a scholarship for you. Apply at www.brazosport.edu/financialaid.

 Pay for Classes

Tuition and fees can be paid online through your MyBC account or in person at the cashier’s office. Payment plans are available. Further information on how to set up a payment plan can be found on the Cashier's Office website.

Step 3: Required Documents and Testing (if needed)

New Brazosport College students are required to provide:

Official documents/transcripts for the highest level of education completed.

 Proof of Bacterial Meningitis Vaccination (Required for anyone under the age of 22 attending classes on Brazosport College Campus.)

Submit Placement Test Scores*

*Certificate seeking students are NOT required to take the Placement Testing unless they intend on taking academic classes outside of their certification program. Dual Credit Students can speak with their Dual Credit Counselor regarding exemptions.

Step 4: Get Enrolled

✔ Get Advised Required for new students.

Meet with an advisor to discuss placement scores, degree planning, and scheduling. An e-counselor and veterans services are available. For more information please refer to the Counseling/Testing Page.

✔ New Student Orientation Required for new students.

New Student Orientation with provide you with valuable information about Brazosport College as well as introduce you to college resources, culture, and polices. You can learn more about orientation and sign up by visiting the New Student Orientation page.

✔ Register

Register for classes online through MyBC or on-campus.

Step 5: Get Prepared

 Textbooks

Visit the BC Bookstore to purchase or rent textbooks. *Hours of operation may vary based on each semester. For more information, call 979-230-3410 or visit www.brazosportbookstore.com

 BC ID Cards and IT Student Account Information

You can obtain your BC Student Picture ID in our campus library. You can set up your Student Account information with IT Helpdesk located in K Wing. You'll need this information to login to campus computers, D2L (Virtual Campus), MyBC and more.

You will need proof of payment or payment plan in order to obtain your student ID and account information.

 Print Your Schedule

Make sure to have a print out of your schedule. You can request a print out from the cashier window with a photo ID or by accessing it through your MyBC.

Registration Tips & Guidelines

The registration system will assign students to specific dates based upon total credits earned. You will not be allowed to register before the date assigned by the system. Once your assigned date arrives, you will be able to pre-register and the system will continue to remain open to you from that point forward. You will then be able to make schedules changes until registration for the semester completely ends.

Online registration is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week, during the priority and open registration periods.

Please remember that most BC offices are open during normal operating hours. If there is a task you need to complete on-campus (see an advisor, clear a hold, etc.) you must do so during the posted hours for that particular office.

Monday-Thursday: 8 a.m. - 6:30 p.m.

Bacterial Meningitis Vaccination

A bacterial meningitis vaccination is required for all students under the age of 22.

Apply for Financial Aid and Scholarships

Your FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) must be completed at www.fafsa.gov. The Brazosport College school code is "007287".

Veterans

You can meet with the Veterans Services Counselor to discuss possible benefits and other services. Please bring your DD214 to apply to use your GI or Hazelwood benefits.

Required Documents and Testing (if needed)

Placement testing, also known as the TSI exam, is required for all incoming, degree seeking students. If you have test scores for the ACT, SAT, TAKS, or STARR tests that are less than five years old, you may be exempt from TSI testing. You can learn more about the TSI Exam on the TSI Testing website.

Incoming students can look up TSI test dates online, however, you must register for a TSI exam at the front desk in the BC Lobby and pay $29 at the cashier's office. We do not offer online payment. TSI exams are free for all Dual Credit Sophomore, Junior, and Seniors (until Spring semester) students ONLY.

Bring a photo ID with you when you take your TSI exam.

Students with disabilities who need an accommodation or modification for placement testing and/or course accommodations can visit the Disability Services website or contact our Disability Services Counselor, Phil Robertson at Phil.Robertson@brazosport.edu or call 979-230-3040.

Meet with an Advisor

Once placement tests are completed, meet with an advisor to discuss your scores, degree planning, and registration for the upcoming semester. For more information or to schedule an appointment, please refer to the Counseling/Testing Page. An e-counselor is also available to assist you.

Register for New Student Orientation

Pay for Classes

You can pay your tuition and fees online through your MyBC account or in person at our campus cashier's office.

Obtain a Student ID and Student Account Information

You will need proof of payment or payment plan in order to obtain your student picture ID (available in the library) and student account information from IT (available in K Wing).

Due dates can be found on the Cashier's Office website under Payment Due Dates. You can view available tuition payment plan options on the Cashier's Office website under Installment Plans.

Financial Aid may be available to assist you in paying tuition, fees, and book costs. Grants, scholarships, and Federal Direct Loans may be available to qualified applicants. Not all scholarship funds are based on income. APPLY NOW to determine your eligibility.

Priority consideration for awards is given to students that complete their by the priority deadlines which you can view on the Academic Calendar. Students who have applied for Financial Aid will be able to view their status, including missing items and any awards, on MyBC.

Tuition and fee payment may be made any time during registration through MyBC by using your credit card or checking account. The payment system is open 24 hours a day and accepts Visa, MasterCard, American Express, and Discover credit cards. Students may also pay in full at the Cashier’s Office in BC Central during normal office hours.

Services provided include VA Benefits coordination, academic advising, career counseling, and admissions assistance.

If you are a student interested in using your Hazelwood or Hazelwood Legacy benefits, application and information can be found on the Texas Veterans Commission's website.

Registration for May or Winter Intersession, or mini-mester, will follow the same Priority Registration Dates. You can find the Priority Registration Schedule on the Admissions website.

Priority Registration allows students who have completed a specified number of credit hours to register before students who have completed fewer credit hours. Pre-Registration will be controlled by date and is based on total credits already earned. These hours do not include the current semester. Please see the chart below detailing the number of credits that must be earned in order to register on the specified date.
