Career Choice: Mechanical Engineer

What I love the most:Spending time with my family, and enjoying the environment while I am running.
A hobby: Running, playing my guitar and piano, going out on trails, game nights with my friends.
Why we are a mentor: To help others set up a path to succeed in their college experience in any way we can.
Where you see yourself in 5 or 10 years: I see myself achieving my long term goals like working in my dream career, starting a family, and being financially stable.
Your role model or someone you look up to: My mom, she does so much for the family!

Teressa Espinoza
Career Choice: Process Operations/Operator
Colleges interested in: University of Houston.

What we love the most: The self-satisfaction that comes along after a hard day’s work! 
A hobby: I absolutely love to fish! Every chance that my son and I get is spent outdoors visiting the beach and/or fishing!
Why we are a mentor: Growing up I was always the girl with more questions than answers. This rang especially true on my first day of college! Being on campus for the very first time can be beyond intimidating and I can personally understand how difficult it can be to muster the courage to ask for help/direction. I’d like to help combat those fears and make Brazosport College your ‘home-away-from-home’ as it has been for me throughout my entire journey towards gaining my associates degree. 
Where you see yourself in 5 or 10 years: I not only see myself well into a career as an Operator preferably for Olin or Conoco Phillips but well into a new journey to becoming an Engineer.
Your role model or someone you look up to: Sandra Villanueva. The strongest woman I know who also happens to be my mother.

Robert Patrick Meylor
Career Choice: Chemistry Professor or Videogame Programmer.
Colleges interested in: University of Texas, Full Sail University, and Stanford University.

What I love the most: My beautiful dog, Annie, my loving family, and my wonderful friends. 
A hobby: I like to spend my time fencing or spending time with friends and family. 
Why I am mentor: I am a mentor because I am passionate about helping people to learn and to succeed. Along with this passion, I have a desire to help people adjust to the college environment and the college life.
Where I see myself in 5 or 10 years: In 5-10 years I hope to see myself with a successful career or finishing up my master’s degree.  A role model or someone I look up to: Philip DeFranco- his passion for truth and his willingness to have a conversation has inspired me too strive for an un-bias truth and has allowed me to become more indulgent to others’ arguments.

Marissa Nava
Career Choice: Doctor

What we love the most: Family, Friends, and adventures!
A hobby: Running, spending time with loved ones, make up, hang out with friends, and listening to music.
Why we are a mentor: I want to be a person to lean on, to watch people really just amaze themselves with their abilities. Overall just to share a bit of happiness with everyone!
Where you see yourself in 5 or 10 years: In Ten years I hope to be done with med school and well on my way to becoming a doctor. I also wouldn’t mind my own home and family!
Your role model or someone you look up to: Shawn Johnson or Jesse Owens (Olympic Gold Medalist) and mother.

Career Choice: Office Administration/ Management Specialty
Colleges interested in: I am interested in the continuance of my studies here at BC into the Baccalaureate Program.

What we love the most: My daughter, family, friends and my extended family here at BC
A hobby: Reading, listening to music, seeing new movies
Why we are a mentor: I feel that as students we all have something to offer one another, whether it is a small or large contribution, the effects of showing compassion to others can be felt longer than we even realize.
