City of Richwood Utility Billing Update

The City of Richwood would like to make it known that any resident or business that is currently displaced due to the flooding can contact City Hall and request a suspension of their water and wastewater services effective as of the billing cycle that started on September 9, 2017. Upon the request for suspension the City will turn off the water at the requested address until such time that the property owner is ready to have services restored.
The next batch of utility bills will be sent out early this week and will cover services provided between August 9th and September 8th. The services for this billing cycle will still be billed. However, for those residents and businesses that flooded, the City is suspending all late fees and penalties through December 31, 2017. After December 31st, the City will continue to work with those that were flooded on a case by case basis.
If you have any questions or if you would like to request a suspension of your services, please visit City Hall or call 979-265-2082 for assistance.

The American Red Cross Immediate Assistance Program is designed to provide emergency financial assistance in the amount of $400 to those Texas households in 39 federally-declared counties impacted by Hurricane Harvey, specifically in those communities where homes were most severely damaged, residents were displaced and life-sustaining services were disrupted. These counties include Galveston, Brazoria, and Matagorda counties. Please push out to our partners, local organizations, and local emergency managers.   Clients may register at disasterverification.com

Registration will be open for 30 days (09/11/17 – 10/11/17) through a bilingual online portal that will enable applicants to self-register for assistance and select from several options to efficiently receive assistance through multiple financial channels. We will be focusing our efforts in the most heavily impacted areas of Texas and will be reaching out broadly to ensure those who need Red Cross assistance are aware of this resource. Tomorrow morning we will share additional details and resources on how to specifically apply but we felt it important you be notified of this effort prior to launch. We hope you will help us communicate the Immediate Assistance Program to your clients/constituents/partners/residents, especially those most severely impacted by Hurricane Harvey.

If you have any questions, please call at 1-800- 733-2767
