Mathematics Bridge Academy can help improve skills
Students often find math courses, such as algebra, to be one of their biggest challenges upon entering college. Fortunately, it doesn’t have to be this way, as Brazosport College is helping students get a head start toward understanding and mastering these skills.
With BC’s summer Mathematics Bridge Academy, junior high and high school students (ages 12-18) can boost their study skills while learning about the college-going culture.
The Math Bridge Academy is not only perfect for students who already have good math skills but are looking to step up to the next level, but also for those who are struggling with math. It’s also helpful for students looking for future career options.
The program uses individualized study plans that target each student’s math needs, which helps develop and career skills. Participants will also meet local professionals and learn about career opportunities.
Registration for the Math Bridge Academy is ongoing and summer sessions are open to any student with algebra needs. Each Academy session is a three-week program, with classes from 9 a.m. to noon or 1 to 4 p.m. on Monday through Thursday.
Two available sessions are remaining this summer, with the next Academy running June 27 to July 14. The final Academy session is scheduled from July 18 to August 4. The cost to attend one of the sessions is $30.
