Dow Chemical Co. partners with BC for $1.4 million job-training grant
Dow Chemical Co. has partnered with Brazosport College to provide job training using a $1.4 million Skills Development Fund grant from the Texas Workforce Commission (TWC).
The grant will be used to custom train 941 new and incumbent workers to provide safety and technical training, professional development, and computer skills, to new hires, incumbent workers needing additional skills training and incumbent workers needing cross-training. Those trained will include plant operators, plant engineers and maintenance workers. Upon completion of training, the workers will earn an average hourly wage of $32.95.
