Brazosport College honors veterans at luncheon

Brazosport College’s Student Veterans Association and Student Government Association teamed up to honor our country’s veterans with a Veterans Day Luncheon on November 11.

The event, held at the Dow Academic Center, featured three speakers and lunch for veterans and guests.

Speaking at the event were U.S. Army Captain of the Seventh Infantry Division and World War II veteran Bob Bryant, U.S. Air Force Recruiter Staff Sargent Lakeydra Houston and U.S. Air Force veteran and Brazosport College history instructor David Sysma.

Vietnam veteran and U.S. Marine Jacinto Hernandez was also honored during the luncheon. Hernandez was recognized on behalf of the Military Order of the Purple Heart Chapter 867, American Legion Post 306 and the Brazoria County Combine Honor Guard. Hernandez was commended for his commitment and contributions to the country, community and veterans.
