BC’s nursing program to hold information sessions

Thu Jan 14, 2016

Brazosport College’s nursing program will hold three information sessions to inform interested candidates about the school’s nursing program.

The sessions will cover a range of topics, such as what BC offers, admittance procedures and other program information. This will also be a prime opportunity to ask questions and have them answered by a member of the BC nursing program.

Two sessions are scheduled for January 26, the first at 2 p.m., followed by a second session at 6 p.m. A third and final session is scheduled for 3:30 p.m. on January 28. The information sessions will by in room HS-103 in the Byron and Sandra Sadler Health Professions/Science Complex on the Brazosport College campus.

Brazosport College currently offers two nursing options, the Associate Degree of Nursing (ADN) program and the Licensed Vocational Nursing (LVN) program.

Currently, the College’s Associate Degree of Nursing (ADN) program is accepting applications for the Fall 2016 semester. Applications will be accepted through April 15 and can be found at www.brazosport.edu/healthprofessions.

A registered nurse is a graduate from an approved professional ADN program and has passed the National Council Licensure Exam for registered nurses (NCLEX-RN). An RN assesses patient health problems and needs, develops and implements nursing care plans, and documents care. And RN provides nursing care to ill, injured, convalescent or disabled patients.
