For many, math courses are one of the biggest challenges upon entering college. Fortunately, Brazosport College is making it a little easier to master these skills.

With BC’s summer Mathematics Bridge Academy, junior high and high school students can boost their study skills while learning about the college-going culture. The Math Bridge Academy uses individualized study plans to target each student’s math needs and develops study and career skills in a college atmosphere. Participants also meet local professionals and learn about career opportunities.

The Math Bridge Academy is not only perfect for students struggling with math, but it’s also a good option for those with good math skills and seeking even more improvement.

Math Bridge Academy is held Monday through Thursday in the Mathematics Achievement Center at Brazosport College. Each academy date offers a morning session, 9 a.m. to noon, and an afternoon session, 1 to 4 p.m.

Registration for the Math Bridge Academy is ongoing and continues through the first day of the scheduled academy.

Three sessions will be offered this summer, with the first Academy running June 5 to 22. Additional sessions are scheduled for June 26 to July 13, and July 17 to August 3. The cost to attend one of the sessions is $30.

Students can enroll by visiting www.brazosport.edu/mathbridge and registering through Brazosport College Community Education. For more information, call (979) 230-3293 or e-mail mathbridge@brazosport.edu.
