BC to co-host 20th annual Career Fair on Tuesday, March 26
Brazosport College will co-host the 20th annual Career Fair on Tuesday, March 26.
Approximately 1700 juniors from seven area high schools, both public and private, will have the opportunity to explore careers with representatives from a wide variety of career fields. The daylong event is a cooperative effort between the college, area school districts, business, industry, and civic organizations to deliver career and educational information to high school students.
Approximately 40 careers are represented in the career booth visitation area of the Career Fair. Students may visit with career professionals, attend breakout sessions, and speak with college representatives about educational and training opportunities.
The Career Fair is modified on a yearly basis to respond to the needs of the community and the needs of the students. This year, there is a focus on job search skills training and employment expectations with two breakout sessions entitled “No Shirt, No Shoes, No Problems … Really?” and “Reality Check.”
The students attending the Career Fair have the opportunity to enter an essay contest to compete for Brazosport College scholarships that are awarded to students from each of the participating high schools. Students interested in entering the scholarship contest should contact their high school counselor.
