The Brazosport College Library recently recognized Banned Books Week with different events and contests throughout the week.
Along with an iRead Book Circle discussion about banned books, the College Library took mugshots of participants with a banned book and held three sessions of Banned Books Bingo. The BC Library also hosted a Black Out Poetry contest.
The events were part of an annual celebration highlighting the freedom to read, publish and express ideas, including those some consider unorthodox or unpopular.
This year’s Banned Books Week is recognized Sept. 25 through Oct. 1.
