BC Jazz Band, Jazz Singers set for Oct. 17 concert
The BC Jazz Band will perform a variety of jazz classics, including Sonny Rollins’ "Sonnymoon for Two," Duke Ellington’s "In a Mellow Tone," Thelonius Monk’s "Blue Monk," Charlie Parker’s “My Little Suede Shoes,” and Irving Berlin’s “Blue Skies,” as well as Rick Faulkner’s “3 rd Avenue Cumbia“ and Bruno Mars’ “Uptown Funk.”
The BC Jazz Singers will perform Kirby Shaw’s setting of “Undecided,” Manhattan Transfer’s version of “How High the Moon,” New York Voices’ “Come Home” and “Me and Julio Down by the Schoolyard” and theBurke/Van Heusen classic “Imagination.”
The BC Jazz Singers include Hannah Baird, Melissa Delafuente, Taylor Fox, Emma Rice, Leda Rice and Zachary Zarate. Jazz Band members are Clint Kennedy and Miguel Aguilera on trumpets, Elijah Green, Chad Lewis and Ruben Rodriguez on sax, Taylor Fox on trombone, Jonathan Peachey on guitar, Nathan Dowlen on piano, Dustin Campbell and E.J. Salazar on bass, and Andy Delafuente and Chris Varela on drums and percussion.
Admission to the concert is free and no tickets are required.
