2017 Graduates
Ready to Work, also known as Jumpstart at Brazosport College,
is a nine-week training program.
Our next training session begins June 11
and concludes on August 13.
  • Only pipefitting and millwright classes will be offered during the summer 2018 session.
  • Registration/Orientation will be on Thursday, June 7 from 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM

No Tuition
All expenses are covered including cost of a hair follicle drug test and a background check.

Limited Spaces
Seats in this program are limited. Only 15 participants will be accepted for each craft class. This is a grant-based program, therefore certain criteria must be met in order to qualify for tuition assistance in the Jumpstart program.

Specialty Areas
Participants may specialize in electrical, pipefitting or millwright work. Placement may be based on space available in each class.
Upon completion, participants will receive:
  • Nine college credit hours*
  • An Occupational Skills Award from Brazosport College
  • NCCER Blue Card - Core Curriculum Certification
  • NCCER Level 1 Craft Certification
* The millwright program has been expanded to 15 college hours.

If you do not meet the qualification criteria and still want to participate, you can do a "Pay Out of Pocket" option. Please contact Art Longoria at 979-230-3242 for information. The pay out of pocket option is only available if classes are not filled with grant-eligible students.
